a few things parents ask before they sign up.
is ohmybaby a native app?
yes — the iPhone and iPad app is
live on the App Store today, alongside the web app that runs in any modern browser. the Android app is coming soon. on iPhone you get daily reminders, white noise, the Mom care tab, and the same private family sync. prefer the web? add it to your phone's home screen for one-tap access.
is ohmybaby free?
all basic features are free — feeds, diapers, sleep, naps, pumping, reminders, household sync, photos, multi-language, dark mode. no ads. anything you log today stays free, forever. future AI-powered features (richer summaries, pattern insights, voice logging) will be a paid add-on for parents who want them — totally optional.
does it track formula bottles and pumping?
yes. feeds are tracked by source — breast, formula, or expressed milk in a bottle — with volume captured for bottles. pumping is tracked separately with side and volume because pumping is the mother expressing milk, not baby intake, so it shouldn't pollute "feeds today" stats.
what happens when i switch sides during a feed?
switching sides mid-feed is one feeding, not two. switch as often as you like — left → right → left → right — and we keep a running per-side time plus a leg count, so the saved feed shows minutes on each side and how many legs each side had. older feeds saved as two separate rows are folded into one in the timeline when they happened back-to-back.
can my partner and i use it together?
yes. each family is its own household. one parent creates the household and shares a 6-character invite code via whatsapp; the other parent, grandparents, or anyone else uses that code at sign-up to join. updates from any device sync in realtime.
i'm heading back to work — can my nanny log for me?
yes, and this is one of the most-loved use cases. share your household code with the nanny so they can log feeds, diapers, naps, and medications as they happen. because everything syncs in realtime, you can open ohmybaby at your desk and see the day unfold live — what was fed, when the last nap was, whether the afternoon medication was given. it's built for parents returning from maternity leave who want to stay close to their baby's day from the office.
is my baby's data private?
yes. every family has its own private household and cannot see other families' data. we don't sell, share, or use your data for advertising. photos uploaded for diapers or moments are scoped to your household and never shown elsewhere. data is encrypted in transit and at rest on industry-standard infrastructure.
is this a medical device?
no. ohmybaby is a logging tool that helps you remember and notice patterns. it is not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical advice. sleep estimates and daily averages are heuristics — they may be wrong. always consult your pediatrician for any health decision.
what languages does it support?
english, tamil and hindi today — the whole interface, reminders, summary text, and confirmations are fully translated. more regional languages are on the way, so every family can use ohmybaby in the language they're most comfortable with. (voice logging via Siri and the in-app mic currently supports english and tamil.)
can i set recurring medication reminders and todo notes?
yes. you can set recurring medication reminders, one-off todo notes, appointments, and errands in the same family workspace. mark tasks complete so the rest of the household knows what has already been handled.
can i log by voice?
voice support is being added now. the iOS app will support Siri Shortcuts like "start a feed in ohmybaby", "log a wet diaper", and "start a nap". the in-app mic is planned for english and tamil voice logging.
will the feed timer show on the lock screen?
yes — this is planned for the iOS app. active feeds will show as a Live Activity on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, with quick pause and stop controls where supported.
does it track the mother's recovery / postpartum?
yes. there's a dedicated Mom tab for the recovering mother — a one-tap daily mood check-in (great, good, okay, low, struggling) with supportive messages, postpartum recovery reminders kept separate from the baby's reminders, and a gentle nudge to talk to a doctor if your mood trends low over several days. it's a supportive self-care tool, not medical advice or a diagnosis. if you feel persistently low, overwhelmed, or unsafe, please confirm with your doctor.
does it have white noise / baby sleep sounds?
yes — and it's free with no ads. the built-in player has generated white, pink, and brown noise plus rain, ocean, fan, and a womb-heartbeat sound, with a sleep timer (15 / 30 / 60 min or infinite) and volume control. on the iOS app it keeps playing in the background with the screen off. keep the volume moderate and the device a little away from the crib.
can it track my baby's vaccinations / immunizations?
yes. ohmybaby includes the standard India immunization schedule (NIS + IAP). due dates are auto-computed from your baby's birthday, you tap to mark doses given, and you see "due soon" and "overdue" status plus a next-dose tile on the Today screen. it's a reference and reminder tool only — always confirm the schedule with your paediatrician.
